The 10th Annual WEST END FEST

Last Saturday, we set up a Happy Cardboard booth at the 10th Annual West End Festival to give the West End Community a little taste of what happens here at the Flagship Clubhouse. Our high school summer intern, Eric, helped lead the event and would like to share some words and pictures with you…

This past Saturday, the Flagship Clubhouse showcased our Happy Cardboard at the 10th Annual West End Festival in Boston. "Happy Cardboard" is when we take blank, “sad” cardboard and make something beautiful out of it. The West End Fest is a cool event that aims to bring the West End community closer together and features lots of free food and games. We came with stickers, tissue paper, and many other arts and crafts tools to help kids transform their sad cardboard into something happy and creative of their own. It was amazing to watch them make their crowns and let their imaginations run wild. The amount of creativity that went into making each crown was fun to watch. As high school interns, Kamel and I lead the event, with help from two of our amazing volunteers Nora and William. It was very enjoyable to participate in the West End Fest and I hope to come back next year!
