Happy Cardboard at “Play Day” (photo slideshow)

This past weekend, the Flagship showcased its Happy Cardboard concept to the attendees of "Play Day" at Lawn on D and also invited the attendees to create their own Happy Cardboard. The results were more fun, colorful and creative than we could have ever imagined. Our high school summer intern, Jayant, took some awesome photos. Check out what he had to say about the event…

On Sunday, The Computer Clubhouse hosted Happy Cardboard for Lawn on D's "Play Day." Happy Cardboard was invented at the Flagship Clubhouse last summer. It means to recycle and reuse old "sad" cardboard to recreate something new and exciting. For Play Day, we led an activity making cardboard crowns, tiaras, and hats. The event lasted from 12 to 5 and was an all ages event. The Happy Cardboard hat-making station had all types of crafts and tools to design crowns and tiaras, including markers, many different types of duct tape, feathers, jewels and gems, tissue paper, decorative paper, and foam-cut-outs. The staff on-site all decorated their own hats and served as inspiration for the visitors. We saw many unique hat designs, such as family-themed hats, empress-styled tiaras, and elaborate rainbow colored crowns!! The event was a huge success. Check out the photos above!!
